Help Miko Today
Miko is a pit mix found on the shelter property in December 2022. Although he was chipped, the staff was unable to contact the owners; however, we did learn he was approximately one year old when found (approx. two years old now). We do not know Miko’s history, but we do know he is a fun-loving, high-energy, fetch master who loves his tummy rubs! Unfortunately, Miko is experiencing kennel stress and is having a difficult time controlling/directing his energy and would greatly benefit from customized training! The isolation of being in the kennel for a year has really impacted him. He thrives on human interaction, needs training to control his energy and learn manners to be ready for his new home.
That’s where YOU can help! Miko has been accepted into a special 3-week training program at Happy Active Dog, LLC. Miko needs TWO things to make this happen: 1. Donations to sponsor him through the program and 2. A foster/adopter after he has aced the program who will continue to reinforce the newly acquired skills.

We need an accepted foster or adopter prior to his training program attendance to ensure Miko has training reinforcement, especially right after graduation. This will set Miko up for success to maintain the skills learned at Happy Active Dog.
Miko is a very active, fun-loving dog so we recommend anyone considering fostering or adopting him after he completes his training be familiar with high-energy dogs and be willing to give him the daily exercise he needs. Additionally, we recommend he be the only pet in the home and his energy level may not be best suited for young children. He has done well around teens. Thank you so much for your support for Miko!
