Meet Destiny, one of the many dogs currently in the care of the Humane Society of Charles County. Destiny was dropped in our night drop in February of 2015. It was later learned that she was expecting and gave birth right here at the shelter to 3 healthy pups. The puppies were all adopted, yet Destiny still waited for a home of her own. Destiny is somewhat of a nervous dog, and did not show well in the kennel environment. She was frightened and was always looked over because of her nervousness. Destiny is now in a foster home and is transitioning into a goofy sweet, still shy dog. We have been told that she is the quietest dog her foster has ever had. She loves her crate, is potty trained, and is so nice on a leash. She would do best in a calmer quieter home. It will take an individual that has patience to work with her and allow her to learn to trust. Could that family be out there that would give Destiny the time she needs to be part of a family?

If you cannot adopt, would you be able to foster? The shelter is always looking for foster homes to help dogs like Destiny learn to trust.

If you are interested in fostering a dog for the Humane Society of Charles County, please email with any questions you might have and to speak with a current foster to make an informed decision.
