Freedom Friends Veterans' Program
We are excited to announce a new initiative here at the Humane Society of Charles County—Freedom Friends! At the Humane Society, we deeply value and honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans. To show our appreciation, we are offering a special opportunity for verified veterans to adopt an animal at 50% off the adoption fee. This offer applies to all animals who have been in our shelter for 6 months or more, giving these wonderful pets a chance to find the loving homes they deserve, while also providing veterans with a loyal companion. To qualify, veterans can verify their status using one of the following documents:
- Military ID
- Retirement ID
- Veteran status on their driver’s license
- DD214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty)
We believe in the healing power of animals and the special bond that can form between a veteran and their furry companion. The Freedom Friends program is our way of saying "thank you" for your service, while also helping provide loving homes for our shelter animals.
