Discount Spay & Neuter Vouchers
Funding has been awarded to the Humane Society of Charles County from the Maryland Department of Agriculture and The Snyder Foundation for Animals. These grants are designed to assist low-income families in the Charles County area with affordable spay/neuter for their pet dogs and cats. We, unfortunately, do not offer free or reduced-cost spay/neuter for other types of pets, nor do we offer vouchers for non-Maryland residents.
- Residents of Charles County with a household income of less than $77,000 may qualify for Free Spay/Neuter & Rabies Vaccination
- Charles County and select zip codes in Prince George’s County qualification (living in Charles County Residents, and residents of select zip codes in PG County with a household income of less than $77,000. Included PG County zip codes are 20772, 20735, 20744, 20607, and 20613)
- Free Spay/Neuter may be available for families with Bully Breed dogs (Pit Bulls, American Bulldogs, American Staffordshire Terriers, and “Pittie Mixes”)
- If you reside outside of Charles County, but within the state of Maryland, the Snyder grant may provide you with a reduced-cost spay/neuter and free rabies vaccine for your personal pet, if your income is less than $58,000 (See Sliding Scale Table Below).
To apply for this program, visit the “Spay & Neuter Services” page and schedule an appointment for surgery. The online scheduler has instructions on how to upload the necessary documentation to prove residency and income qualification.

Trap-Neuter-Return Community Cat Grants
Our grant programs are also used to provide free spay/neuter and vaccines for “community cats” or free-roaming cats (TNR). Please visit our Community Cat/Trap Neuter Return Program to learn more about how you can help stop the unwanted litter of “community cats” in the area.
