Bruiser Needs Your Help
Bruiser is a 4-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier brought to us as a stray. On medical evaluation, he was found to have a severe heart murmur. We were able to raise enough money for him to see a cardiologist at CVAC Cardiac Care for Pets in Annapolis, Maryland. Bruiser has been diagnosed with severe valvular pulmonic stenosis, a congenital heart defect. With a narrowed heart valve, the blood returning to his heart from his lungs has a smaller hole to squeeze through and has caused severe right ventricular hypertrophy, thickening of his heart muscle.
Bruiser desperately needs to have an operation inserting a balloon into the valve to stretch it to an acceptable size to facilitate the blood flow into his heart. Without this surgery, Bruiser is at high risk for worsening heart disease and cardiac-related complications.
Bruiser is an active, loveable, playful guy. We would love for him to be able to have the life he deserves. The surgery costs $6,500.00. With convalescent and rehabilitation care, we will need an additional $2,000.00 for his recovery. We have already raised part of the $8,500.00 thanks to incredible supporters. We need a little more help to get Bruiser the medical attention that he needs.
